Oman officlaly changed its working week on 1 May 2013 to be Sunday to Thursday.
Saudi Arabia has also now officially changed its weekend to Friday-Saturday from its current Thursday-Friday, following a royal decree issued by the country’s ruler King Abdullah.
According to the decree, the change will come into effect on June 29. The move will bring the Gulf’s most populous country and world’s largest oil exporter in line with the rest of the GCC countries, which currently operate on a Sunday to Thursday working week. This alignment of working week is expected to generally assist businesses across the region.
